Privacy Policy

TeaganAI helps Florida families find special-education schools for their children. Because we work with sensitive information — including details about a child's disabilities, age, and learning needs — we take privacy extremely seriously.
1. What we collect
From parents and guardians:
- Account details: name, email, phone, county
- Child details (only what you provide): name, age, grade, disability type, support needs
- Conversation history with our AI assistant
- Schools you save, contact, or apply to
From schools (our paying customers):
- School profile, programs, contact information, billing data
- Aggregated lead activity
2. How we use it
- To match your child's needs to schools that fit
- To share your contact details with schools you explicitly choose to contact
- To improve our AI matching engine (in de-identified, aggregated form)
- To send you account, security, and product update emails
3. What we DON'T do
- We do not sell your data to advertisers
- We do not share your child's information with schools you didn't choose to contact
- We do not use your conversations to train external AI models
4. Children under 13 (COPPA)
Children under 13 do not interact with TeaganAI directly. Only parents and legal guardians create accounts and provide child information. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have legal authority to provide information about the child(ren) listed on your account.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please email privacy@teaganai.tech and we will delete the account within 7 business days.
5. Educational records (FERPA)
We do not retrieve or store official educational records (IEPs, 504 plans, school transcripts) on your behalf. Anything you choose to share with a school through our platform is shared directly with that school under their own FERPA practices.
6. Your rights
- Access & export: request a full copy of your data via Download my data or email privacy@teaganai.tech.
- Delete: request permanent deletion via your account settings or email privacy@teaganai.tech. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Correct: update any inaccurate data from your account settings.
- Opt out of emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email or adjust preferences in account settings.
7. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Chat conversations are retained for 24 months unless you delete them. Once you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days; aggregated, de-identified analytics may be retained indefinitely.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (Supabase). Access to production data is limited to authorized engineers. We notify affected users within 72 hours of any confirmed data breach.
9. Changes to this policy
We will email all account holders at least 30 days before any material change takes effect.
